Trust & Transparency
How WilderGoat records entries, runs draws, checks winners and encourages responsible participation.
The draw process
Before the draw
During the draw
A winner is selected at random from all valid entries using an automated ‘locked’ computer process (click here for more). See our how it works video for a quick demo.
After the draw
The provisional winner is contacted and checked before the prize is confirmed and delivered.
Transparency details
- Paid online entries are recorded through the WilderGoat website and linked to the entrant’s account.
- Valid postal entries are manually checked and added to the relevant competition before the draw.
- Invalid, incomplete, late, duplicate, fraudulent or rule-breaking entries may be removed before the draw.
- Entry numbers may be published or made available before the draw where this supports transparency and is practical.
Winners are selected at random via a random number generator from all valid entries for the relevant competition. A paid entry and a valid postal entry have the same chance of winning per entry. See our how it works demo video for more information. We also provide a detailed explanation here.
If a technical issue, system failure, entry error or fairness concern affects a draw, WilderGoat may pause, investigate, void an affected result, re-run the draw or take another fair and reasonable step in line with the Terms & Conditions.
- Each competition page states the closing date and, where applicable, the expected or guaranteed draw date.
- If a competition reaches its maximum entry cap early, it may close early in line with the rules.
- WilderGoat will not extend a competition simply to sell more entries.
- If a draw is delayed for a genuine reason, WilderGoat will explain the position as clearly as possible.
A person shown as the provisional winner is not fully confirmed until eligibility, entry validity, identity and any other necessary checks have been completed.
- The winning entry must be valid and submitted before the closing date and time.
- The entrant must meet the eligibility requirements.
- The entrant must not have exceeded entry limits or breached the rules.
- The entrant may need to provide ID and proof of address.
- There must be no evidence of fraud, multiple accounts, automated entries or manipulation.
WilderGoat competitions are intended to be a fun way to enter draws for outdoor prizes. They should never be treated as a way to make money or guarantee a prize.
Only enter if you are comfortable doing so.
