Full Winner & Competition Transparency Policy
The full wording explaining how entries are recorded, how instant and main winners are determined, what checks happen and what records are kept.
Our commitment to fair competitions
WilderGoat competitions are designed to be clear, fair and transparent. Valid paid and postal entries are treated on the same basis for the prizes advertised on the relevant competition.
A competition may include a main prize, instant prizes, or both.
Plain-English promise We will not extend a competition simply to sell more entries. Instant-winning numbers are fixed before entry allocation begins, and any main draw uses the verified winner-selection process described below. |
|---|
How entries are recorded
Paid online entries are recorded through the WilderGoat website and linked to the entrant’s account.
Valid postal entries are manually checked and added to the relevant competition.
Invalid, incomplete, late, duplicate, fraudulent or rule-breaking entries may be removed.
Entry numbers may be published or made available where this supports transparency and is practical.
How winners are selected
Instant wins: specific winning entry numbers are linked to specific instant prizes and locked before entry allocation begins. Valid entry numbers are randomly assigned and checked against those locked numbers. WilderGoat does not choose an instant winner after seeing who entered.
Main prize: where included, the winner is selected after the competition closes from valid entries using a verified computer process designed to produce a random result.
If a technical issue, system failure, entry error or fairness concern affects the process, WilderGoat may pause, investigate, void an affected result, re-run a main draw where appropriate, or take another fair and reasonable step in line with the Terms & Conditions.
Closing dates and main-draw timing
Each competition page states the closing date and, where a main prize is included, the expected or guaranteed draw date.
Main draws normally take place within the period stated in our Terms & Conditions.
If a competition reaches its maximum entry cap early, it may close early in line with the published rules.
WilderGoat will not extend a competition simply to sell more entries.
If a main draw is delayed for a genuine reason, we will explain the position as clearly as possible.
Main draws, results and records
Where practical, main draws may be shown live or recorded for transparency. We may publish draw results, instant-winning entry numbers, prize details and winner announcements on the WilderGoat website, email newsletter or social channels.
Not every main draw will necessarily be live-streamed. The key requirement is that winner selection is carried out fairly, recorded appropriately, and capable of being checked internally if needed.
Winner checks before prizes are awarded
A winner may be subject to eligibility, entry-validity and identity checks before a prize is fully confirmed.
the winning entry was valid and submitted before the closing date;
the entrant met the eligibility requirements;
the entrant did not exceed entry limits or breach the rules;
the entrant can provide required ID and proof of address where requested;
there is no evidence of fraud, multiple accounts, automated entries or manipulation.
Winner announcements and anonymity
We may publish or make available winner information where required or permitted by advertising rules, competition rules, law or regulatory expectations. This may include the winner’s first name or initial, surname, county, winning entry number and prize won.
Winners may request reduced publicity or anonymity. We will consider such requests carefully, especially where there are safety, privacy or vulnerability concerns. However, we may still need to provide limited winner information to regulators, the Advertising Standards Authority, or another appropriate body where required.
What we keep as evidence
To support fair administration and deal with questions or complaints, we may keep internal records for each competition, including:
competition name, opening date, closing date, any main draw date and entry cap;
paid and postal entry records;
invalid or removed entries and the reason for removal;
locked instant-winning numbers and associated prize records where applicable;
instant-win results and whether advertised instant prizes were allocated;
the method used to select any main-prize winner;
winning entry numbers and winner contact records;
winner verification status, acceptance and prize fulfilment records;
draw recordings, screenshots, logs or audit notes where relevant.
Personal data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

Full Responsible Participation Policy
Our approach
WilderGoat competitions are intended to be a fun way to win outdoor prizes. They should never be treated as a way to make money or guarantee a prize.
We want every entrant to understand the cost of entering, the maximum number of entries available, how winners are determined, and the free postal entry route before taking part.
Important Only enter if you are comfortable doing so. No prize is guaranteed, and buying more entries does not remove the risk of losing your entry fee. |
|---|
Before you enter
You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom to enter.
You must enter using your own legal name and your own WilderGoat account.
You should read the competition page, entry price, closing date, prize details, entry cap and maximum entries per person before entering.
If instant wins are included, check the advertised instant prizes and whether the competition also includes a main prize.
You should only enter with money you can afford to spend.
You should not enter if doing so would cause financial pressure, stress or difficulty paying essential bills.
A paid entry does not give you a better chance per valid entry than the free postal route.
Free postal entry route
Every WilderGoat competition has a free postal entry route. Valid postal entries are eligible for the same advertised prizes as paid entries, including instant prizes and any main prize where applicable.
Full postal entry instructions are available on our Postal Entry page and in our Terms & Conditions.
Entry limits
Each competition may have a maximum number of entries overall and a maximum number of entries per person. These limits are shown on the relevant competition page.
Entry limits support fairness, transparency and responsible participation. Attempts to bypass them, use multiple accounts, or enter using another person’s details may lead to entries being voided and accounts being suspended.
How to keep participation sensible
Decide your maximum spend before entering and stick to it.
Do not chase a win by repeatedly entering more than you planned.
Do not enter while upset, stressed, under pressure, or after drinking alcohol.
Take a break if you feel frustrated, disappointed, or tempted to spend more than intended.
Talk to someone you trust if entering competitions starts to feel difficult to control.
Account limits and support
If you would like help limiting your participation, you can contact us at info@WilderGoat.co.uk. We can review reasonable account-level support options, such as closing your account or applying internal restrictions where available.
If you ask us to close or restrict your account, we may need to keep certain records where required for legal, fraud-prevention, tax, complaints, audit or competition-administration reasons.
When we may step in
WilderGoat may refuse entries, suspend an account, cancel entries, or
contact an entrant where we believe it is necessary to protect fairness,
security, responsible participation, or the proper administration of
competitions.
suspected fraud, multiple accounts, identity misuse or automated
entries;attempts to exceed entry limits;

behaviour;payment issues, chargebacks, or suspicious activity;
