Trust & Transparency
How WilderGoat records entries, handles instant wins, runs main draws, checks winners and encourages responsible participation.
How winners are decided
Before entries open
Competition details are published first. If instant wins are included, the winning entry numbers are locked before entry allocation begins.
When you enter
Your valid entry numbers are randomly assigned. If instant wins are included, those numbers are checked against the locked instant-winning numbers straight away.
Main prize, where included
After the competition closes, the main-prize winner is selected from valid entries using WilderGoat’s verified random draw process.
Transparency details
- Paid online entries are recorded through the WilderGoat website and linked to the entrant’s account.
- Valid postal entries are manually checked and added to the relevant competition.
- Invalid, incomplete, late, duplicate, fraudulent or rule-breaking entries may be removed.
- Entry numbers may be published or made available where this supports transparency and is practical.
Instant wins: specific winning entry numbers are locked before entry allocation begins. Valid entry numbers are randomly assigned and checked against those locked winners. WilderGoat does not choose an instant winner after seeing who entered.
Main prize: where included, the winner is selected after the competition closes from valid entries using the verified random number process. See our how it works explanation and detailed draw page.
Valid paid and postal entries are treated on the same basis for the prizes advertised on that competition.
- Each competition page states its closing date and, where a main prize is included, the expected or guaranteed draw date.
- If a competition reaches its maximum entry cap early, it may close early in line with the rules.
- WilderGoat will not extend a competition simply to sell more entries.
- If a main draw is delayed for a genuine reason, WilderGoat will explain the position as clearly as possible.
A winner may be subject to eligibility and entry-validity checks before a prize is fully confirmed.
- The winning entry must be valid and submitted before the closing date and time.
- The entrant must meet the eligibility requirements.
- The entrant must not have exceeded entry limits or breached the rules.
- The entrant may need to provide ID and proof of address.
- There must be no evidence of fraud, multiple accounts, automated entries or manipulation.
WilderGoat competitions are intended to be a fun way to win outdoor prizes. They should never be treated as a way to make money or guarantee a prize.
Only enter if you are comfortable doing so.

- Set a maximum spend before entering.
- Do not enter if it would cause financial pressure or stress.
- Do not use multiple accounts or another person’s details.
- Ask for help limiting or closing your account if participation starts to feel difficult to control.
