We wanted this one to work for more than one type of outdoor person.

The Garmin fēnix 9 is the sort of prize that makes sense whether you are heading into the hills, training for something, tracking a long walk, travelling, running or just trying to spend more time outside.

And we did not want the instant-win side filled with random gadgets just to make the prize count look bigger.

The MSR Tindheim tents are proper camping prizes. The Jetboils are brilliant for quick hot drinks and meals when you’re outside. Coleman FyreLite stoves are small, useful bits of kit that work well on their own or tucked away as a backup.

The Helinox chairs give you somewhere genuinely comfortable to stop without hauling a massive camping chair around. The Rab shelters and Ark bivis are exactly the sort of things you hope you never really need, but make a lot of sense to have in your pack when things go a little off kilter.

And Firepot meals? Proper lightweight food for nights away. Treat yourself.

How the instant wins work

Winning numbers are allocated to the instant-win prizes before the competition opens.

Your ticket numbers are allocated randomly. If one of your numbers matches a winning number, you will be told what you have won.

Winning an instant prize does not remove your valid entry from the main draw. You can win instantly and still have a chance of winning the Garmin.

Any remaining instant-win prizes and winning numbers will be shown factually throughout the competition where available.

WG Credit won in this competition can be used towards another eligible WilderGoat competition, but cannot be used against an Instant Win competition.
